ABOUT
Hello, my name is Michelle and I'm a serial cross-stitcher.
I design and make things with love and appreciation about the people, ideas and pop culture that mean the most to me. My subject matters are usually northern, working-class, weird, or just plain wonderful (it's a good day when they're all four), and I always add a big dollop of humour when I can.
It makes my heart sing that people share my proclivities and enjoy what I do. I salute my fellow 'specialist' enthusiasts. Cross-stitch lovers, unite!

What I Do
I create strange and interesting designs that I then turn into:
-
Large and small greeting cards
-
PDF digital patterns
-
A4 prints
-
Hand-stitched and framed cross-stitch pieces (see commissions page)
-
Bespoke finished cross-stitch pieces (see commissions page)
Who I’ve Worked With
I’ve had the pleasure of working with:
-
My cards are stocked at The British Music Experience (Liverpool), Loafers Vinyl (The Piece Hall, Halifax) and Nottingham Contemporary Gallery (please get in touch if you'd like to stock me too)
-
I've designed cards for Stockport Museum's Strawberry Studios exhibition, and created a large cross-stitch piece that formed part of the display
-
I've designed cards for the Working Class Movement Library (Salford), Elizabeth Gaskell House (Manchester), and Haworth Parsonage (Yorkshire)
-
I had two exhibitions at the Royal Exchange Theatre, and designed the poster and book cover for Chris Thorpe's play, The Mysteries
-
I've designed the end papers for Daryl Easlea's book, Whatever Happened to Slade?
-
My Complete Fall design was featured in Record Collector magazine, and was recently used on the back of Cherry Red Records' revised LP, 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong (huge thanks again to Daryl Easlea, for making my dreams come true)
-
My large cross-stitch piece, I swear I was There, was displayed in HOME Manchester's open exhibition
